Why the Bilstein 6112
Half-ton trucks that want a real front coilover upgrade with a matched spring and up to about 2.5 in of adjustable lift, without spacers. The Bilstein 6112 kit for your 2007-2013 Chevy Silverado 1500 / GMC Sierra 1500 2WD/4WD is a pair of 60mm monotube coilovers with cold-wound matched coil springs, billet aluminum spring seats and snap-ring ride height adjustment. The 60mm piston moves more oil than a 46mm 5100, which means more control at speed and more heat capacity, and the matched spring is rated for the truck instead of relying on a tired factory coil.

Questions
Which circlip groove should I use?
Use the lift chart above for your engine and cab, and measure hub-to-fender front and rear first. The circlips are set at the factory; move them before you assemble the spring.
Do I need upper control arms?
Bilstein does not require them, but above roughly 2 in of lift aftermarket UCAs restore caster and keep the upper ball joint out of the end of its travel. An alignment is required either way.
What is the difference between 6112 and 5100 Ride Height Adjustable?
The 5100 RHA reuses your factory spring on a 46mm shock. The 6112 is a 60mm shock with its own matched spring, so it carries more oil, handles heat and heavy front ends better, and does not depend on the condition of your original coil.
Do I need a spring compressor?
Yes. The kit ships unassembled; the coil must be compressed to install the top mount. Bilstein specifies professional installation.
How long does installation take?
Two to three hours for the pair, plus an alignment. A spring compressor is required.
What is the warranty?
Limited lifetime warranty (Bilstein North America). Bilstein warranties are non-transferable and processed through the original place of purchase, so keep your Hannah Suspension order confirmation.
