Why the Bilstein 5100 Ride Height Adjustable
Half-ton owners who want to level the front or add up to about 2.5 in of lift on the factory coil without a spacer, and get a monotube shock at the same time. The Bilstein 5100 Ride Height Adjustable strut for your 2007-2013 Chevy Silverado 1500 / GMC Sierra 1500 2WD/4WD is a 46mm monotube front strut with multiple snap-ring grooves; the spring seat position sets the lift using your factory coil spring. Unlike a spacer, it adds lift without stacking a puck on top of a worn factory strut, and it keeps full monotube damping at every setting.

Questions
Which circlip groove should I use?
Bilstein does not pick one for you. Measure hub center to fender lip at all four corners, subtract front from rear, and pick the groove closest to that number from the chart above. Most half-tons sit level around 1.5 to 2 in.
Do I reuse my factory spring?
Yes. The 5100 Ride Height Adjustable is designed for the factory coil only. Aftermarket or heavy-duty coils change the preload and are not supported.
Do I need new upper control arms?
Not required, but above roughly 2 in of front lift many owners add aftermarket UCAs to bring caster and ball joint angle back into spec. An alignment is required after installation.
Will it change the ride?
Damping is Bilstein monotube at every groove. Higher settings add spring preload and reduce down travel slightly, so the ride gets a little firmer as you go up.
How long does installation take?
Plan on two to three hours for the front axle with a spring compressor, plus an alignment. Bilstein specifies professional installation because the factory coil is under load.
What is the warranty?
Limited lifetime warranty (Bilstein North America). Bilstein warranties are non-transferable and processed through the original place of purchase, so keep your Hannah Suspension order confirmation.
