Why the Bilstein Steering Damper
Solid-axle trucks on larger tires that wander, shimmy or kick back through the wheel. The Bilstein steering damper for your 2007-2008 Ram 1500 / 2007-2013 Ram 2500/3500 4WD is a monotube steering damper with digressive valving. It slows the steering inputs that come back up from the tires, not the ones you make.

Questions
Does a steering damper fix death wobble?
No. It masks a shimmy, but wobble comes from worn track bar, tie rod or ball joints. Fix those first, then add the damper for larger tires.
Does this replace the factory damper?
Yes, it mounts in the factory location with the hardware included. Dual kits add a second damper and bracket for very large tires or heavy front ends.
How long does installation take?
About 30 minutes with hand tools; no alignment needed.
