Why this kit

The 5160 is the Bilstein 5100 with a remote reservoir: same 46mm monotube and digressive valving, plus a second canister of oil and nitrogen that keeps the shock cool on long washboard, heavy towing in summer heat, or repeated hard hits where a standard shock starts to fade. This kit puts all four on a leveled Super Duty in one order, the 25-311792 fronts sized for 2 to 2.5 in of front lift and the 25-311808 rears for the 2017-2026 rear. Reservoirs mount to the frame with the included brackets.

Questions

5160 or 5100?

Same valving philosophy, same fit. The 5160 adds oil capacity and heat rejection. If the truck sees long dirt roads, heavy trailers in hot climates, or you simply want the shocks to stay consistent on the worst days, 5160. For a daily driven truck the 5100 kit does the job at less than half the price.

Where do the reservoirs mount?

To the frame near each shock using the supplied brackets and hose. Plan on 45 to 60 minutes per corner including bracket placement.

Why is the warranty shorter than the 5100?

Bilstein covers reservoir shocks for 2 years rather than lifetime because the hoses and reservoir seals are serviceable wear items.

Does this fit the Tremor package?

No. Tremor trucks sit higher from the factory and need different lengths.
