Why this kit

Most of the ride improvement on a leveled F-150 comes from the front, and this kit spends the money there. The Bilstein 6112 is a 60mm monotube coilover with its own matched coil springs, so you replace the soft factory spring instead of reusing it, and set ride height with snap-ring grooves from stock to about 2.5 in of front lift. The rear gets the proven 5100 monotube, sized for a stock or 0 to 1 in rear, which is all a daily driven or light towing truck needs. If you tow heavy or run long dirt, step up to our 6112 + 5160 reservoir kit; otherwise this is the best ride per dollar on the platform.

Questions

Why the 6112 instead of the 5100 strut?

The 5100 reuses your factory spring inside a 46mm body. The 6112 is a 60mm body with its own springs, so it carries more oil, damps a lifted or heavy truck with far less fade, and rides firmer and more controlled. It is the difference between leveling the truck and upgrading the suspension.

How much lift will I get?

Snap-ring grooves on the 6112 body let you set anywhere from stock height to about 2.5 in of front lift. The rear 5100 is sized for 0 to 1 in of rear lift.

Do I need a spring compressor?

Yes. The 6112 spring must be compressed onto the strut and the factory upper mount transferred. Most owners have a shop assemble the fronts. Plan on 2 hours per side up front, 20 to 30 minutes per side for the rears, and an alignment afterward.

Do I need upper control arms?

At 2 in and above, aftermarket UCAs are strongly recommended to restore ball joint angle and camber range and to keep the factory arm off the larger coilover body at full droop. Below 2 in the factory arms work.

What is the warranty?

Limited lifetime warranty on all four dampers through Bilstein North America, processed through the original place of purchase. Keep your Hannah Suspension order confirmation.
