From ICON
ICON Vehicle Specific (V.S.) 3.0 Series shocks are designed and built to give your vehicle outstanding performance off-road and a smooth ride on the street. These shocks are configured specifically for each application in both length and damping tune. 3.0 Series shocks boast 50% more piston surface area compared to 2.5 Series shocks. This translates into increased stability and vehicle control at the extremes of off-road use, with benefits also making themselves apparent in on-road driving conditions. Increased internal oil volume and more external surface area compared to 2.5 Series shocks offer improved heat dissipation and resistance to shock fade under hard use. Like all ICON shock absorbers, V.S. 3.0 Series shocks are 100% rebuildable and 100% revalveable. For piggyback and specific remote reservoir applications, ICON's unique use of a 6061 billet aluminum manifold a few inches below the top cap of the shock creates an internal "Bump Zone" that when used creates an additional 20% of damping force. This additional force helps prevent harsh bottom outs and controls the suspension when compressing at high velocity. ICON's exclusive Compression Damping Control Valves are included for precisely dialing in your suspension performance. CDCV controls fluid flow under compression, allowing you to achieve the perfect tune whether driving on the street, slow-crawling through the rocks or mobbing across the desert at full throttle.
Why this 3.0 Series VS RR CDCV Rear Shocks
ICON VS (Vehicle Specific) shocks are built to the exact length and valving for a 2007-2026 Chevy Silverado 2500HD/3500HD / GMC Sierra 2500HD/3500HD at the lift height listed, so they run in the middle of their travel instead of topping out or bottoming early. Digressive piston, 5WT oil and a nitrogen-charged monotube body; fully rebuildable and revalveable.

Questions
IR, RR, PB: what is the difference?
IR is an internal reservoir, a self-contained monotube body. RR is a remote reservoir connected by hose and PB is a piggyback reservoir bolted to the body; both add oil volume and cooling so damping stays consistent on long rough sections. IR is lighter and simpler; RR and PB resist fade.
CDCV, CDEV, CDXS: which adjuster?
CDCV is a 10-position manual compression knob. CDEV is an electronic compression valve controlled by the ICON Intelligent Control module and phone app, which reads speed and terrain and adjusts on the fly; it requires the IIC install kit. CDXS is a manual dual-circuit adjuster with 10 marked detents each for compression and rebound. Shocks without a code run ICON's fixed vehicle-specific valving.
Can these be serviced?
Yes. Every ICON shock and coilover is rebuildable and revalveable through ICON factory shock service. The shock warranty is 12 months against manufacturing defects.
Who installs it?
ICON requires professional installation and does not cover failures caused by improper installation. Plan on a shop with a lift and an alignment rack for anything that changes ride height.
