From ICON

Tougher, stronger and more capable - That's the motto that General Motors used when debuting the all-new fleet of heavy-duty trucks in 2020. ICON Vehicle Dynamics stayed true to GM engineers' thought process with the development of our suspension systems for the 2020-UP GM HD 2500/3500 trucks. Using ICON's holistic engineering philosophy, our R&D team went above and beyond to develop several stages of complete suspension systems that provide varying levels of adjustability, capability, and overall vehicle performance. ICON's Stage 3 system is comprised of V.S. 2.5 Aluminum Series remote reservoir front and rear shocks featuring ICON's Compression Damping Control Valve (CDCV) for 10 settings of adjustability for any driving style or condition, and tubular Delta Joint upper control arms. The ICON vehicle specific tuned 2.5" diameter shocks with CDCV are the key to attaining optimum ride quality and getting that desired comfort with the 3/4 & 1 ton working capability. Remote reservoirs ensure optimum performance by increasing the duration of consistent damping regardless of situation, keeping the shocks at a cooler operating temperature during heavy use. Additionally, ICON billet upper control arms add strength, durability, additional caster and camber adjustment, and when paired with extended travel shocks increases wheel travel 2" over the OEM configuration. While driving the construction site or trails to your favorite dirt bike location, ICON wants you to get there in comfort just like your drive to work.

Why this 2.5 Series VS Rear Shocks

ICON VS (Vehicle Specific) shocks are built to the exact length and valving for a 2020-2022 Chevy/GMC 2500HD/3500HD at the lift height listed, so they run in the middle of their travel instead of topping out or bottoming early. Digressive piston, 5WT oil and a nitrogen-charged monotube body; fully rebuildable and revalveable.

Questions

IR, RR, PB: what is the difference?

IR is an internal reservoir, a self-contained monotube body. RR is a remote reservoir connected by hose and PB is a piggyback reservoir bolted to the body; both add oil volume and cooling so damping stays consistent on long rough sections. IR is lighter and simpler; RR and PB resist fade.

CDCV, CDEV, CDXS: which adjuster?

CDCV is a 10-position manual compression knob. CDEV is an electronic compression valve controlled by the ICON Intelligent Control module and phone app, which reads speed and terrain and adjusts on the fly; it requires the IIC install kit. CDXS is a manual dual-circuit adjuster with 10 marked detents each for compression and rebound. Shocks without a code run ICON's fixed vehicle-specific valving.

Can these be serviced?

Yes. Every ICON shock and coilover is rebuildable and revalveable through ICON factory shock service. The shock warranty is 12 months against manufacturing defects.

Who installs it?

ICON requires professional installation and does not cover failures caused by improper installation. Plan on a shop with a lift and an alignment rack for anything that changes ride height.
